Parkwood all terrain test facility

We are the prefect venue for testing tires or vehicles whatever the type, whether it is manufacturer testing or individual rally car testing. Whether you are testing ABS, Traction Control, Tyres or any manner of testing we have the facilities to meet your needs. We have a number of surfaces at our test facility, mud, water, rocks, gravel roads, rough roads, rock trails, off road technical surfaces.

Forest Gravel Test Venue

Forest Gravel Testing
Our gravel testing facility is used by many professional teams across the UK, the stages cover some 8kms of gravel forest roads, with various linked roads through our forest it's the perfect venue for testing a vehicles performance, braking, speed and tires.

Off Road Surfaces
Our off road testing facility has over 100 acres of off road technical surfaces all linked by various tracks, our all terrain driving course has lots of hills, side slopes and much more. All routes are graded for all types of 4x4 vehicles.

Well over 200 people turned up to test their skills at the Colin Appleyard Off Road Driving day held at Parkwood Outdoor Centre, Tong Village, Bradford last weekend.

Customers were given the opportunity to drive their own 4 x 4 vehicle or try out one of the Suzuki demonstration models on a supervised course run by Parkwood and Colin Appleyard staff Alternatively, they could be driven by a member of staff, on a more testing course, through mud, water and up and down hills.

Colin Appleyard Director Robin Luscombe commented “Despite the gale force winds it was an extremely successful day. It gave customers an opportunity to try out the capabilities of the different Suzuki off road vehicles. If anything the windy conditions added to the enjoyment.”

“All in all” He added, “We were very pleased. There was a lot of interest and we sold 4 cars on the day. It just goes to show there is still a demand for good value 4 x 4s.”

Other entertainment included a trials bike demonstration by Graham Jarvis, one of the world’s top indoor trials riders and an extremely popular barbeque.

Rebecca Hoare of Parkwood Outdoors said “We were very impressed with the organisation and the professionalism of the Colin Appleyard staff. It proved to be a great day out for all the family and particularly for the people getting a taste of off road driving for the first time.”

Colin Appleyard was the first official Suzuki car dealership to be appointed in the UK back in 1978. Since then the company has established a network of successful dealerships in Keighley, Huddersfield, Shipley and Ashton-under-Lyme.

Measure Performance

At Parkwood, you can drive on a 4x4 circuits, measure performance, braking and maximum speed on our gravel roads. You can deliver that all important presentation in a conference room at the Holiday Inn hotel opposite the test facility or dine in their award winning restaurant.
