Rock Crawling

The development of the Rubi-Tong had for some years been a dream of Barry Stalard formally of Jeep UK, and off road expert Mark Askew, after both men took part in the famous Rubicon Trail in America. They wanted to replicate that experience in the UK... but they had a few problems.

The Rubicon Trail is located in the Californian High Sierra! And the odds of finding enough rocks to crawl over would be a tall order to fulfill. They then approached our own David Hoare our facility development manager, who happens to be the owner of our on site quarry and from then on the work began!

15 kilos to 15 tons

After Months, or is it years?! Of cutting and placing thousands of pieces of rock individually ranging from 50 kilos to 15 tons each, the 3 men have created something truly unique here in the UK. With the Wipe Out Wall, Clutch Creek, and Corkscrew there are many paths to take on this incredible trail. The Rubi-Tong has been used by car manufactures to launch 4WD products and used as a testing area for current models and has hosted many challenging events.
